The astrological causes of the grim “zeitgeist” running now through Europe!

According to the myth, Jupiter the father of all gods in the disguise of a bull abducted the beautiful phoenician princess Europa and brought her to the european continent! In this way the continent of Europe was “inaugurated”! Every myth is rich in symbolism and this specific one is recounting to us the fact that the current European continent was bound to become a blessed land, a land that would display at its fullest the archetypes of royalty, of joviality and of taurean stability and prosperity.

Fast forward some thousand years and Europe today is indeed the most prosperous, serene and cultured continent worldwide. Or at least it used to be. Because in the last few months things seem to have radically changed, due to a series of ferocious terrorist attacks that ultimately spred a lot of terror (deadly attacks and killing sprees both in northern and southern France, in Belgium, in Germany). It seems that the careless years have gone away, no more romantic walks along the river Seine in Paris or anywhere else in Europe, since everywhere now there is an odor of gun-powder on the air! Everybody looks suspicious and each corner (no matter how cozy or romantic) is fraught with danger! The enemy is within and everywhere a potential terrorist is lurking! That’s a rather unnerving sensation, causing massive paranoia throughout the European citizens! Their cities are transformed into over-extended prisons! So, what is the astrological reason that brought over this blick, disruptive and fearful “zeitgeist” to the old continent?

Definitely Pluto in Capricorn has a lot to do with it. You see the sign of Capricorn is somehow rapresenting the structured and organized societies – our urban landscape, our cities. And Pluto (the “grim ripper”, the bearer of primeval fear) is transiting for 9 years now in the sign of Capricorn (and over the “World’s MC” – you may read about the importance of this phenomenon here). Additionally, Pluto is a planet intimately connected to the masses and to the tragic collective events. Of course Pluto transited several times in the last two-three millennia over the sign of Capricorn. Βut its impact upon humanity was rather minimal back then. You see, the disruptive and transformative effect of Pluto in Capricorn escalated from the moment our structured, industrialized societies and mega-cities appeared in the horizon (mostly from the 19th century on. So, humanity is actually experiencing this Pluto in Capricorn effect for the first time ever!)

Pluto has to do with the so called “agoraphobia” too – the fear of crowds. If you are currently in Europe and you walk among many people or if you stand amidst a crowd (i.e. in a concert) then definitely the – not that absurd by now – thought of being shot or even bombed will be repeatedly crossing your mind! And there are other factors contributing to this paranoia: the current Saturn – Neptune square aspect, which is not facilitating us in stop thinking irrationally and in coming to our senses. And of course the overall Jupiter – Saturn – Neptune T-square (with the “double whammy” element of Saturn being in the sign of Sagittarius and at the same time squaring planet Jupiter! That’s par excellence the fear of the unknown, of the person standing beside us whom we don’t know, the fear of anybody belonging to a different ethnic background or religion…)

Rebellious planet Uranus in the ultra-individualistic sign of Aries has its fair share too! It brings forth the uprising of the individuals. That would be a good thing, if creatively channelled. But if we put in the mix the newly found planetoid Eris then things are getting more dynamic and complex. You see Eris has to do with the people who are “uninvited”, “unwanted”. To the Europeans these “uninvited” people seem to be the muslims (who on their turn perceive the Europeans as invadors and usurpers of their own lands and goods (they call the Europeans “the infidel crusadors”). And the fact is that we are currently in the middle of a volatile triple conjunction between the planets Uranus and Eris, a conjunction that is ever more exacerbating the tension between the uninvited muslims and the european christians! It’s not by chance that with this Uranus -Eris conjunction the phenomenon of “the lonely wolf” kind of terrorist appeared! In their perspective, the atrocities they commit on european soil are nothing more than mere “retributions” for the sufferings inflicted upon them by the Europeans!

I’ve done some research on the impact of the Uranus – Eris conjunction over the human history. Of course it is preliminary to draw any definite conclusions but apparently this conjunction is coinciding with some rather odd and “out of the norm” periods of our history! It coincided i.e. with the outbreak of many revolutionary movements (especially in China). And with the implementation of rigorous dictatorships – where one man/woman is seizing absolute control over his/her entire country (the “lone avenger” seems to be a favorite theme to Eris). It was the case of Stalin back in 1927 (during the previous time planet Uranus was conjuncting Eris in Aries) and it is so far (in July 2016) the case of Erdogan in Turkey – who is apparently seizing absolute control over his country, disposing of (or even executing?) his opponents!

As the decade of 2010’s seems to be pretty reminiscent of the 1930’s, some even larger-scale events might be coming over to the old, aristocratic continent within the next few years!

Planet “Nine”: the next “Big Kahuna” in astrology!

An artist’s depiction of planet “Nine” as envisioned by scientists (Credit: Caltech/ R. Hurt (IPAC))

Many extraordinary discoveries go largely unnoticed at the time they occur. Take for example the discovery of planet Uranus in 1781. Not very many astrologers realized back in 1781 that this new, outlandish planet – which actually upset the millennia old established astrological model of the seven “planets” in our Solar System – would ensue a gigantic leap for astrology! For decades (and even centuries) after the discovery of Uranus the astrologers continued erecting their horoscopes as before, by using the traditional set of planets and paying little attention to the “misfit” planet Uranus. But today it would be unthinkable for an astrologer who practices modern astrology not to include Uranus (and Neptune and Pluto) in a chart! These three “transcendental” planets have tremendously enriched our interpretative capacities and it was a pitty that the astrologers of those generations did not take advantage of their enormous potentiality.

Maybe we are bound to repeat that mistake, this time with the so called planet “Nine”! You see, in the last couple of decades – and especially from 2003 on – we are discovering in the far reaches of our Solar System so many celestial bodies (Sedna, Eris, Makemake, Quaoar, Orcus and many other objects bearing numbers instead of names) that we are beginning to lose count and interest in them. Somehow, it feels like we are back in 1781! But this time we have to carefully evaluate these newly found bodies, so that we promptly determine their astrological value. Personally, I think that we should start with planet “Nine”, which actually is a fully fledged planet (and not a dwarf planet like the rest). Planet “Nine” is one of a kind (as I mentioned, it is the ONLY newly found PLANET) and by far stands out among all the other new “kids on the block”! There is a small problem here though: we haven’t seen yet this planet!

Odd as it might sound, no human being has set his/her eyes yet on planet “Nine”! And as I am explaining below, for the time being this planet exists purely as a theoretical – intellectual conception. If we ever gaze with our telescopes planet “Nine” then it will be a triumph of the human intelect. Actually, it will be the second time that we will experience a triumph of that kind. Back in 1841 the French astronomer Le Verrier noticed certain discrepancies in the orbit of the newly found planet Uranus and theorized that another giant planet should lie beyond it – exerting its influence over Uranus. He even provided the exact coordinates of this new planet to a German observatory, which consequently discovered the planet Neptune exactly where Le Verrier suggested it would be!

                               Does planet “Nine” really exist?

To be honest, we are not absolutely sure that planet “Nine” really exists. Even Mike Brown (the famous astronomer who on the 20th of January 2016 made the announcement of planet Nine’s “discovery” – on a purely theoretical basis, via mathematical equations and cumputer’s simulations) admits that there is a ten per cent chance that planet Nine does not really exist. But on the other hand, there is a bounteous ninety per cent chance that planet Nine is really out there! I might be betting on the wrong “horse” here but I trust Mike Brown. He is an internationally recognized astronomer and he has discovered so many objects in the far reaches of our Solar System that he has definitely got the hang of it. I don’t think he would ever publicly announce the existence of planet “Nine” unless he were quite sure about it…

Let me try to explain you as plainly as I can the gist of his theory. Just picture a kids’ swing. If such a swing is swinging then we are sure it is not swinging on its own, There must be some force moving it, a force exerted by some phenomenon or entity. It might be a person, a strong wind or even an earthquake. We might not be seeing the entity or the phenomenon producing the force but we clearly see the effect produced by it: the swing swinging. We know that it is impossible for a swing to move unless some force – stemming out of something or somebody –  is exerted upon it. In certain instances we might not have a direct visual contact with the person pushing the swing (there might be ie. a tree lying between us and him/her) but we are pretty sure s/he is there! The very same principle apllies to planet “Nine”. We know it is out there because we are seeing – to our astonishment –  six whole dwarf planets “swung” to the overall same direction, without anything else out there being capable of producing such a dramatic effect!

Planet “Nine” swinging the six dwarf planets on the left to an overall same direction (Credit: Caltech)

So, we are talking here about a new planet that is located far beyond our known Solar System. By measuring the amount of force this planet exerts over the six “swung” dwarf planets we determine that planet “Nine” should be two to four times bigger than the Earth and 10 times as massive! It is temporarily named “Planet Nine” (it will be properly baptized when captured by our telescopes), because it is the ninth planet in numerical order from the Sun. It comes immediately after Neptune, which is the eighth planet of our Solar System (we shouldn’t forget that the body we previouly knew as the “ninth planet”, Pluto, has been demoted in 2006 by the Ιnternational Astronomical Union and is currently considered not a proper planet but a dwarf one).

It is like living i.e. in the island Cuba and believing (as our ancestors used to believe before us, for that matter) that Cuba is all that there is, the entire world. And then some day unexpectedly finding out that beyond Cuba lies the vast american continent! That kind of “shock” the astronomers are experiencing nowadays! For generations we used to believe that our “island” (the Solar System we were familiar with) was all that there was and suddenly we discovered a vast “continent” (an immense extended area of our Solar System) lying beyond our “island” (our previously known Solar System)!

The gargantuan orbit of planet “Nine” in respect to our known Solar System (Credit: Caltech)

The main difficulty in spotting planet “Nine” lies in its sheer distance from the Sun. As you can see in the picture above, planet “Nine” orbits the Sun in a gargantuan distance that somehow is “off scale” in comparison to the orbits of the planets we are familiar with (in fact, everything about this planet seems to be “off scale”). Actually, planet “Nine” it is so remote that the astronomers estimate it would appear something like a 1000 times fainter than Pluto (and if you know how faint Pluto appears in our telescopes – just a few pixels across – then we are talking here about something that is extremely faint)! Obviously planet “Nine” reflects a very limited amount of sunlight, thus even to our most sensitive telescopes – if they ever serendipitously focus on this “ghostly” planet – it will be extremely difficult to distinguish it from the background of the “all starry” sky. In addition, planet “Nine” should be pretty much frozen, meaning that its thermal “trail” is not easily detectable by our radio telescopes. So, it might take years before we “physically” discover this majestic object.

Some people might say then: why should we care for such a remote planet that even to our strongest telescopes  appears as a minuscule dot? Well, the answer is that astrology does not seem to care that much about distances. The planets of our known Solar System – which are much closer to us than planet Nine- do not actually affect us astrologically by their gravitational tug. If that was the case then – as the skeptics are claiming –  an obstetrician would exert on the infant a much stronger gravitational tug with his/her body mass than any other heavenly body! So it is not the very proximity of a planet that makes it astrologically “active”. It rather is a complex web of cosmic interrelations. Think of Pluto: it is a tiny object very far away from us but still it is tremendously affecting us! Let alone planet Nine, which is 5000 more massive than Pluto! In any case, it would be ridiculous for us astrologers to be giving credit to “space boulders” like i.e. the asteroids “Arachne” or “Eros” and ignore such a majestic and domineering celestial body like planet “Nine”!

Actually, planet “Nine” seems to be the absolute king of this newly discovered, unimaginably huge area that lies well beyond our known Solar System. It is gravitationally dominating vast reaches of this over-extended area. Beyond any doubt, this is an omnipotent celestial body, which is subduing several dwarf planets dictating them the orbits they follow…

The astrological properties of planet “Nine”

Determining the astrological properties of a somehow “ghostly” planet that we have just theoretically “discovered” – and that we haven’t even set our eyes on – would normally be a task next to impossible! In fact, it took several decades – and even centuries – to guess, then  “distill” and finally determine the specific astrological properties of each of the planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. But this rather long process ultimately handed over to us a valuable practical “kit”, that turns to be very useful in determining the properties of a newly found celestial body. You see, in retrospective and after so many years that the astrologers were eagerly striving to detect the properties of the planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto we realized that “synchronicity” is a crucial elementt. So, we should carefully examine every single set of events, every process or even intricacy occurring around the time a celestial object is discovered. Additionally, we realized that the astronomical reality of a celestial body has much to do with its astrological nature. Armed with these notions we will attempt now to guess some eventual properties of planet “Nine”!

First of all, planet “Nine” is a purely theoretical discovery, a discovery made possible thanks to the human intellect and the – produced by the human intellect – science of mathematics and astronomy, the advanced computers, astronomical software etc. So, it might be a planet exalting the human intellect and endowing the individuals and the generations it is affecting with extraordinary spiritual / intellectual capacities!

And beyond any doubt, this is a “transcendental” planet. We have been already calling “transcendentals” the (astrological) planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Thus, we are aware that we are having here a planet that goes beyond the “transcendental”. I don’t know what might lie beyond the transcendental but definitely planet “Nine” is the harbinger of a much elevated and profound consciousness. It apparently represents experiences that go beyond the habitual spectre of life and is probably “attracting” some unusual or even extreme to our everyday perception events (often of an inner dimension). Such a “hyper-transcendental” planet might be an agent of tremendous evolution for the human beings, although the individuals themselves might be experiencing the initial stages of such evolution as an acute suffering and constant adversion. In such a transcendental realm the concept of “duality” is largely eased off and the polar opposites look ever more the same!

Planet “Nine” is a distinctively “generational”, collective planet. It acts mostly on a collective level and its impact would be more obvious over the human generations than on single individuals. All the other planets stay in a sign just a few years, not enough time to “stamp” a generation with the distinguished “frequency” of their permanence in that sign. Only Pluto might stay up to 31 years in a sign – and this period stands on the fringes of what we might call a generation’s time span. Sometimes though Pluto stays just for 12 years in a sign and that’s not enough time to produce a distinct “astrological stamp” for that generation. Till now we did not have a planet staying in a sign for say a century, a planet vibrationally “marking” an entire epoch for humanity (i.e. there is no known planet that can be accounted for – on its own – for the epoch of the roman empire). But that might change now, as planet “Nine” remains in certain signs for entire centuries (it might orbit the Sun in a period of 15.000 years)!

Michael Brown hypothesizes that planet “Nine” might currently be somewhere in the constellation of Cetus – which corresponds to the zodiacal signs of Aries/ early Taurus. It is very probable then that planet “Nine” was transiting in the sign of Aries during the two last world wars (together with Eris and Sedna, you may see my relative article here), marking with its presence in Aries one of the most bloody and bellicose periods in the history of humankind (with almost 70 million human casualties)! …Isn’t clear now in retrospective the sheer madness we have been through in that grim period of the two most large scale, destructive wars in the history of humanity?

Planet “Nine” is definitely a planet of power, somehow fatally dictating its will upon the individuals and especially upon the generations it is affecting.

It is also a planet long heralded by different names and forms! As “Planet X”, as a stellar “Nemesis”, as “Tyche”etc. Thus, it might have to do with the attribute of “heralding” things, situations, entities. It might be also teaching us that a true entity might be concealed behind different names and appearances, which are ultimately reflecting just partial facets of it!

Oddly enough, planet “Nine” seems to be connected to all of the transcendental planets/dwarf planets Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Eris! In addition, it somehow summarizes certain of their properties. First of all, it is much reminiscent of planet Uranus, because (as Uranus back in 1781) it is ushering us now into a vast new area of our Solar System, an area that we had never imagined it existed. It is thus a “system’s breaker”, a somehow subversive, revolutionary planet that is awaking us to new vast dimensions!

It has some obvious similarities with planet Neptune too! You see, both planets were “discovered” first on a theoretical level, due to the perturbations they were exerting over some other celestial bodies that had already been discovered by the astronomers. And they were “physically” discovered later on (or so we hope for planet “Nine”).

In addition, planet “Nine” is intrinsically connected to Pluto, because it actually took its place as the ninth planet of our Solar System (since Pluto was demoted to a dwarf planet back in 2006). There shouldn’t be a ninth planet after all, but thanks to this new giant planet the order is apparently restored and Pluto is somehow vindicated! Not to mention that planet “Nine” seems to be a “dark” king, the king of a very dark region of the “extended” Solar System. And as we know, Pluto is considered the king of the underworld. So, there is an intimate, “semiotical” kind of connection between planet “Nine” and Pluto!

Finally, planet “Nine” seems to have some kinship with the newly found dwarf planet Eris. You see, both these objects have been somehow “unwanted”. Eris was the only deity that was not invited in a crucial – according to greek mythology – marriage. And planet “Nine” was apparently kicked out of our known Solar System some billions of years ago – due to the gravitational tug of our known giant planets. So, planet “Nine” seems to have been somehow redundant to our Solar System and for that reason it was kicked out in its farthest reaches! It might thus be astrologically representing the traits of being unwanted, kicked out and redundant…

                                                 Conclusion

The impact of the definite, visual discovery of  planet “Nine” will be enormous for astrology.  You see, at least as early as 2005 a quest has begun from the part of the international astrological community on the astrological properties of the newly found planetoids Sedna, Eris etc. The astrologers worldwide have been  trying to understand how important these planetoids are and whether or not should they include them in their charts – and how should they interpret them. When we come down though to planet “Nine” we don’t deal with just a small planetoid but with a proper giant planet, perhaps four times larger than our Earth! Therefore, planet “Nine” carries a particular astrological weigh and it is imperative to determine as early as we can its actual position in the sky and its overall astrological properties. Then, we should permanently include it in our astrological softwares and the horoscopes we erect!

When an extraordinary dicovery is made people feel they are living in exciting times! Provided they realize the fact that the relevant discovery is extraordinary. And we – today’s astrologers – are lucky to live in such an exciting epoch, when the discovery of planet “Nine” was made!

Greek astrologers sentenced to 6 months of jail for insulting and libelling Thomas Gazis

On March 18, 2016 the greek astrologers Thanasis Matsotas, Katerina Saloniki and Dimitris Koronakis were tried at the 8th Athens magistrate’s court, for the charges of unprovokedly insulting, defamating and libelling astrologer Thomas Gazis (charges pressed against the accused by Thomas Gazis back in 2010). Both Matsotas and Saloniki were sentenced to six months of jail each!

SOCIETY AS OUR SURROGATE FAMILY (the vital “Vertical Axis” of the Zodiac)

Every time I yield to the temptation of eating a delicious Greek candy I find myself crossing a high speed avenue, in order to get to my favorite pastry shop. There is a footbridge crossing over to the other side of that avenue and I often use the elevator to get up to it. The elevator is a modern, see through one (even playing some lounge music). Inexplicably though (or not that much so) it is vandalized! Its glass paneling is broken at various points, as if wildly kicked or clubbed…And there is graffiti all over. It somehow makes me sad to see a communal benefit like this elevator in such a state. You see, all the citizens of my area are benefiting from it, thus it should be kept as clean and intact as possible. Not everybody though is thinking it that way. To some it is rather a target where they are unleashing their rage…But why?

I am pondering on this every time I get in that elevator…I am thinking of who those people might be, who are venting their anger over that defenseless elevator…Most probably they are young – you see the older ones are more “socially conformed”. Maybe these are some youngsters whose father/mother did not give them the pocket money they were expecting. Or maybe their parents are quarreling and do not pay enough attention to their particular adolescent/ post-adolecent needs…Or maybe some girls spurned them out..Who knows…All we can see is their rage that is permanently impressed upon the elevator’s glass paneling…For some reason these people are blowing off steam on that defenseless elevator, vandalizing a communal good.

I have studied some psychology and I can see a sort of “freudian transfer” going on here. In reality, these youngsters would like to confront face to face their indifferent parents, their tough bosses or the spurning girls so that they pay them back the emotional pain they have experienced. But for various reasons they cannot – and this makes them even more furious. So, they are resorting to a feasible to them alternative solution: to damage communal goods they can lay their hands on! Like this elevator, which their parents, spurning girls, or bosses will eventually make use of – indirectly receiving thus their rage. So, these guys in order to avenge their own privately induced emotional pain are ultimately “damaging” society at large!

The fact is that this kind of “rage transfer” is not limited just to the hot-tempered youngsters. The older ones have their fair share too! There is on Youtube a documentary on the worst spy in the history of the USA. It is entitled: “Most Dangerous Double Agent in FBI History – Robert Philip Hanssen”.Hanssen (an Aries man with Moon in Pisces) was for 20 years selling vital USA secrets to the Russians! During his childhood his father – a tough and aloof Chicago police officer – was constantly disparaging and humiliating him! And after his arrest Hanssen confessed to the bureau’s psychiatrist that the FBI was filled with characters just like his father, “authoritarian, demanding, never willing to praise or reward him”! That is why he decided to hit back and with no remorse betray his very country, damaging it beyond all means! I was impressed by the fact that Hanssen “transferred” his grudge towards his father over the entire FBI personnel! And furthermore, that he ultimately sought to avenge his painful early years by damaging his entire country! From an astrological point of view, I perceived a strong “Cancer – Capricorn axis” emphasis being at play here.

Cancer – Capricorn: the vital “Vertical Axis” of the Zodiac

The signs of Cancer and Capricorn are called “cardinals”. The two are located the one across the other in the zodiac circle (diametrically opposite). They constitute the “vertical Axis” of the zodiac (or a zodiacal “Tree of Life”). Cancer is located at the basis of that axis (at the lowest point of the zodiac) and Capricorn at the top of the axis (at the highest point of the zodiac). Actually, the Cancer – Capricorn “polar duet” is forming (as every other zodiacal “polar duet”, for that matter) a sort of a “Yang – Yin” pair. These two cardinal signs are constantly interacting but at the same time are ever found in a dynamic equilibrium as a whole – seen from the outside. Each sign is somehow “reflected” into the other. And every change in one of them is triggering a “counteract” change in the other. We could say that there is a “recompensatory process” taking place among these two cardinal archetypes. And in this “recompensatory process” ultimately lies the reason why we are transferring (positively or negatively) our privately-induced emotional states onto the wider society!

According to psychology, our early years in life are extremely important. They constitute the foundation upon which our entire adult personality is based. Our childhood experiences mold and shape the “spinal chord”of our adult temperament, state of mind, overall character. And it is next to impossible for an adult to be well balanced, emotionally sound, mentally alert, confident in him/herself, open to the people around him/her and happy unless s/he has been properly loved, nurtured, encouraged and stimulated during his early years in life. In the horoscope these fundamental loving and nurturing energies are archetypally set in the sign of Cancer / in the Fourth House (the cusp of which was called by the hellenistic astrologers “Hypogeion” – basement that is). Not by chance the sign of Cancer lies at the very lowest part of the zodiac – such a position is explicitely stating the Cancer’s “fundamental” nature for us humans.

So, the “watery” sign of Cancer harbors the all important for our development and formation energies of loving and nurturing. But then, by extrapolation this implies that its diametrically (polar) opposite sign of Capricorn not only does not encompass such energies but it pretty much lacks them! We could actually say that the sign of Capricorn is harboring energies that are as alien as they can get from the ones of loving and nurturing (not by chance the Moon, the “planet” ruling the sign of Cancer, is characterized as “Debilitated” when located in the sign of Capricorn)! But if such an hypothesis holds any water then we are facing a serious problem here. Because we are having a zodiacal sign that is not providing to its “holders” some very fundamental and vital for their well being energies!

How can this be? Is the sign of Capricorn a “flawed” one? Well, foremost astrologers like Dane Rudhyar and Liz Greene – who are specialized in psychological astrology – have extensively written about the profound insecurities and complexes characterizing the planet Saturn, which is ruling the sign of Capricorn (meaning that those saturnine complexes are somehow embedded in Capricorn). No doubt that a person that did not receive his/her due amount of loving and nurturing in his childhood might very well harbor serious psychological deficiencies in his/her adult character. But as we explained before, the polar opposite signs develop what we might call a “recompensatory process”. Thus, the sign of Capricorn in order to redress its lack of cancerian nurturing energies has developed a very particular “recompensatory mechanism” that I will explain below! If it didn’t possess that mechanism then we should call Capricorn a seriously flawed zodiacal sign!

The deprived early years of the archetypal Capricorn

Although I don’t have in my hands a survey officially attesting this, all my life I have been encountering Capricorns having a problematic relation with the entity we call “family”. They are often coming from cold, strict, aloof, poor families and during their childhood they have experienced all kinds of hardships. They lost their father or mother early, their parents were very demanding and disciplinarian, ever enforcing on them duties and in general some heavy for their childish shoulders burdens. And they had lived in a somehow “sterile” family environment, where there was very little room for the display of affection or joy and where they received very little encouragement or praise. And what is even worse, there are characteristic cases of Capricorns who were completely abandoned by their parents and who grew up in the cold and impersonal environment of an orphanage!

I recently watched the interview of a famous Capricorn who confessed to the hostess that for very long in his life when he was seeing children who had even one of their parents by their side he was feeling completely shattered! In every single such occurrence he was overcome by a sense of colossal injustice and taken over by a heavy grievance. The pain was unbearable, an obviously recurring pain that bred in him a lifelong resentment against every single kid that had a parent/parents. And this ultimately led to a general resentment against the entire society!

We would expect from this Capricorn man to become a bad lot in his adult life. Surprisingly though he did not. Fueled by his inner bitterness and fervently seeking to rectify the unfathomable injustice he suffered (being abandoned by both his parents) he worked very hard after he left the orphanage. He remained largely undistracted by the usual youth enjoyments, outings and “idle living”. With the substantial amount of money he earned he enrolled in a prestigious acting school. He was rehearsing for hours and hours in front of his mirror, becoming a shining example in the acting school. He then began his career by initially taking small roles in theatrical plays or in the movies (knowing him I believe that he shrewdly used all his connections and devices – especially his charm – to get the jobs and rise high). Gradually he became a well known and respected name and he is today a leading actor in major theatrical plays. Thus, he is daily basking in the applause of the spectators, who are ever admiring and loving him – in a way his actually non-existent parents never did! He has had his own family and kids too but he is actually divorced. He is receiving though so much love and adoration by the wider society! That’s Capricorn at its best!

Ultimately, what led this man to excel is the fact that he applied in his life the “recompensatory proces” I mentioned before. He didn’t have a family and that element alone might have totally crippled him. But he somehow transmuted his colossal resentment and turned it into a driving force, into a fervent desire to achieve important things in his life and distinguish himself both professionally and socially. As a Capricorn he instinctively knew the “secret” that even if someone never had a family of his own, life is offering him/her a second chance to have one. And I am not implying here just the family we may create with our own partner. The secret is that society itself is acting as a sort of surrogate family to us!

You see, when you have a good professional/social reputation then society treats you really well (even if you don’t have a lot of money in your pocket)! It treats you that well and “tender” almost as if it were your maternal family! Let’s say you are a well known doctor/lawyer in your area (all too often people with strong Capricornian elements in their chart become doctors). Wherever you go you will be meeting people paying attention to you, greeting you or even complimenting you (for curing them or their relatives, for winning their case in the court etc.)!

Even more so, when you are a famous doctor/lawyer etc and you visit i.e. some restaurant or music hall you will be drawing the attention of the entire personnel over you! Obviously, it will be an honor (and a very effective marketing) for the specific restaurant, the music hall etc. to have a recognizable, respected citizen, a sort of celebrity in their premises. So, as soon as this (even local) celebrity comes over they will lead him/her (and his/her eventual company) to the very best table, they will offer him/her the best service possible, they will grant him/her the most delicious plates. Thus the restaurant or the music hall owners and personnel will be treating this distinguished citizen with much care, interest, warmth, almost as if they were his/her own paternal/maternal family!

Transmuting Society into our Family!

This is a very interesting but relatively uncharted aspect of the human nature! There is out there a somehow indestructible, perennial “family” of ours waiting to pamper and reward us (if we have been “good children” of course. I am explaining this in the next paragraph)! Even if we were allotted the cruel fate of not having a maternal/paternal family of our own, there is still a future for us, because later on in our lives we are given – thanks to the Capricorn’s “recompensatory process”- a chance to turn the entire society into our “family”! But there is a catch here. Society is not acting as a surrogate family to everyone but only to its most distinguished members (in reality, society may become extremely tough and ruthless to an average Joe)! It is its most renowed members the ones who society is coddling and pampering, in the way a mother is coddling and pampering her children. Capricorns are very much aware of this fact, that’s why they are ever striving to excel and become important in life, both professionally and socially.

So, behind every ambition, behind every professional/social achievement of ours lies a fervent desire to turn society into our “family”! Let me explain this in more detail. Being a doctor or a lawyer are two of the highest esteemed and top ranked professions in our society. But you are not becoming a doctor because you like your patients’ debilitating conditions. Nor because you love being interrupted in your coziest moments by emergency calls. Likewise, you don’t become a lawyer because you desire to be continuously annoyed by some actually indifferent to you and stressful affairs regarding other people… In all honesty, you become a doctor or a lawyer for the prestige and the money of it! You emerge as a doctor/lawyer etc. mainly because you want to become socially important, to be admired and respected by the people around you. There is a strong egotistical drive hidden behind such a wish and obviously it is not by chance that Mars – the planet of raw egotistical drive – is exalted in the sign of Capricorn!

Somehow and to a certain extent, there is a “shortcoming”, a “complex” hidden behind our desire to “achieve” in the wider world! The more we have been “denied” things in our early years the more motivated (cosntructively or destructively) we become in our adult life. Thus, indeed some kind of “flaw” lies at the core of our successes. Of course I am not excluding here the eventuality of a well pampered in its childhood individual achieving important things (professionally/socially) in its adult life. All I am saying is that the individuals who did not receive much affection and rewards in their childhood are more motivated to achieve things in their adult lives.

You see, when you have had a nice childhood you usually feel complete inside you, you feel good with yourself. You then wish to imminently experience your completeness and share your well-being with the people around you. Thus, you get more easily carried away by the omnipotent allurance of the “here and now”, by the idle chatting of casual companies (especially if they comprise members of the sex you are attracted to), by any carefree situation. And if you have been well pampered in your early years then you are more unwilling to engage in activities that give you a hard time and do not immediately reward you! You prefer to live an easy life – at the cost of not accomplishing much. Meaning that the real achievers might ultimately be the ones who are probably feeling a little bit unconfortable within the context of a casual company, who do not get much reward in the “here and now” and who thus prefer to retreat behind the curtains and work hard in order to achieve something “big”. Some big achievement that will ultimately draw upon themselves the society’s admiration and pampering.

In a certain sense, the big achievers are actually trying to fill some fundamental “void” in themselves. An illustrious historical case comes to my mind at this point: according to his biographers, Alexander the Great was disparaged by his father Philip, who was bragging that had conquered almost the entire southern-eastern Europe (and it was a great deed back then for a small greek kingdom to have conquered a whole chunk of Europe). But ultimately Alexander exceeded by far his father, as he conquered almost the entire world – or at least the known in his era world! Apparently, his father’s scorning became a major motivation for Alexander the Great to accomplish his legendary deeds that will be eternally admired!

We might have never suspected that, but behind every imposing skyscraper or other mega-construction, behind the great missions, the life saving inventions and discoveries lies a more or less wounded child that craves to be admired, recognized and loved by his/her surrogate “mommy”/”daddy” the society! So, somehow all the major accomplishments in the history of humanity are stemming out of some sort of promordial “deficiency” within the soul of the“achievers’”, out of some kind of “complex”! Think though how much our societies have benefitted and advanced out of this inherent human “deficiency”! Think how much behind we would be as humankind if we didn’t harbor such a powerful, creative “complex” within our souls!

THE ANTIOCHUS OF COMMAGENE LION HOROSCOPE

west-terrace-antiochus-i

Let me introduce you a larger than life ancient king (half Greek, half Armenian) called Antiochus I of Commagene (you are seeing above the head of his statue). He lived in the first century BCE in Asia Minor (today’s Turkey) and he apparently had a keen interest in astrology and hermeticism. He was born on the 16th of the Greek-macedonian month “Audynaios”, which roughly corresponds to our December, so chances are that Antiochus of Commagene was a Sagittarius.

This ancient king is somehow in vogue now, because as I am writing this article (December 2015) there are three topical issues somehow related to him: the bloodied Syria war, the Hannukah Jewish festival and the Hellenistic astrology! I am explaining below in what way.

First of all, Antiochus himself might have been a larger than life figure but his kingdom, Commagene, was a minuscule one (smaller than modern Israel). Furthermore, in his era (1st century BCE) his kingdom was surrounded by menacing empires like the Parthian, the ever expanding Roman and the Ptolemaic-Egyptian one. Geographically, Commagene is situated some 25 miles north of the modern Syrian borders, where some bloody combats are actually taking place and where innumerable refugees are flocking in a desperate attempt to escape the mayhem. This is the first element connecting our regal protagonist to the present timeliness.

The second link has to do with a Greek “Seleucid” king (an Alexander’s the Great successor), whose superior army the Maccabean Jews defeated in 165 BCE. This is actually the event that the modern Jews are commemorating in the Hannukah festival. By coincidence, that king was named Antiochus too – and in addition he was an ancestor of our own king’s mother! So, this is the second element connecting Antiochus of Commagene to the present period.

A third link to Antiochus is the much revived lately Hellenistic Astrology. Apparently Antiochus of Commagene was in it on a very deep, esoteric level. In his times the Hellenistic Astrology was beginning to take shape and form – revering though its mesopotamian roots – especially within the Commagene geographic area, which is very close to Mesopotamia.

So, the story with our Antiochus (who bore the title “manifest God” – “Epiphanes Theos” in Greek!) goes like this: either because he was a megalomaniac or because he was a shrewd politician (he was well aware that his kingdom was a tiny one and that the giant empires around him would eventually swallow it) he tried to artifiacially “pump up” his kingdom, to aggrandize it, to establish in his own way an illustrious “Commagene dynasty”. For this purpose, he commissioned a rather pharaonic project, the construction of a huge mausoleum atop the highest mountain of Commagene (mount Nemrut), where in Antiochus’ own words “my soul will be eternally abiding with the gods”.

ND_ET_overview022011

Actually, his workers re-shaped (using many thousand tons of stones and gravel) the entire mountain top, so that it ultimately looked like a perfect pyramid cone! In that pyramid they allegedly located Antiochus’ tomb. And at the east and west of the pyramid they created two seperate terraces, where they positioned a similar array of gods’ statues (and remarakably, Antiochus’ own statue among them!). Below these gigantic statues there are bas releifs recounting the Antiochus’ – mostly fictitious – saga.

The most interesting to us – and perhaps to the entire history of astrology – is a bas relief located at the west terrace depicting a lion. We know that from remote antiquity the lion has been a symbol of regality, so its presence there dosn’t surprise us much (actually, there are plenty of lion statues on this sanctuary/mausoleum). But there is something else that makes this specific lion slab different: it clearly depicts on its surface several stars! In fact, it depicts 19 eight-pointed stars spread all over the body of the lion (and some around it). These 19 stars are not of the same magnitude. Some are bigger and some smaller. Such a fact cannot be coincidental, because the artist who sculpted this bas relief was good with his hands, so obviously there is a meaning to it.

replica-nemrud-ready

And there is another thing: the arrangement of these 19 stars, over and around the body of the lion. Is this arrangement casual, purely decorative or is there something deeper in it? Well, even an amateur astronomer can tell that this arrangement is not casual at all. It clearly represents the constellation of Leo! You see, more than two millennia have passed from Antiochus of Commagene era but the constellations on the sky maintain pretty much the same configuration (it is only after tens of thousands of years that they significantly shift). So, we are seeing here the typical configuration of the Leo constellation and of its 19 commonly observed by the Greek astronomers stars! Knowing this, everything starts fitting in and it makes sense the fact that some stars on this lion slab are bigger and some smaller: they almost perfectly match their true corresponding magnitudes!

So, we know alright that this is an astronomical depiction. But it might very well be a sort of deification of the constellation of Leo (I am just hazarding a guess). How can we possibly be sure that the Lion sculpture relief of the Nemrut mountain is in reality a horocope? Surely, it doesn’t look like one! Or at least it doesn’t look like the horocopes we are used to (the cyclical ones with the zodiac inscribed on their circumference and the planets arranged around it). If this is an horocope then where are the typical horocopic elements like the planets, the Ascendant, the houses etc? Based on our own modern assumptions of what an horoscope is we do not see one here. Maybe we should change our point of view, because ultimately there is evidence on this bas relief that supports the horoscope scenario. All it takes to spot it is a discerning eye – and the notion of some greek!

We mentioned before that there are 19 stars on this lion slab. In reality there are 22. But three of them (the ones hovering over the back of the lion) stand out from the other ones, for three reasons. 1) They are much bigger than the rest 2) They are composed of sixteen-pointed rays (and not eight -pointed, like the other 19 stars) and 3) they bear names over them, in Greek. Actually their Greek names is the key to their mysterious nature!

Planets over Nemrut lion's back

Over the left sixteen-pointed “star” it is written in Greek: “
ΠΥΡΟΕΙC ΗΡΑΚΛ(ΕΟΥC)”. This means: “the fiery one of Hercules”! Of course this sentence does not make much sense, unless one has some knowledge of ancient Greek astronomy or literature. Because in classical Greece “the Fiery one” was the name of the planet Mars, which in ancient Greek texts we often encounter simply as ΠΥΡΟΕΙCthe “Fiery”. We will see below why its full title “the fiery one of Hercules” is displayed here.

Over the central sixteen-pointed “star” it is written in Greek: “CΤΙΛΒΩΝ ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΟC”. This means: “the glittering one of Apollo”! Again this sentence does not make much astrological sense, unless someone is knowledgeable about Greek astronomy or litterature. Because “the Glittering one” was in classical Greece the name of planet Mercury (we often encounter it in ancient Greek texts simply as CΤΙΛΒΩΝ – the “Glittering”)!

Over the right sixteen-pointed “star” it is written in Greek: “ΦΑΕΘΩΝ ΔΙΟC”. This means: “the radiant one of Jupiter”! I guess this is the easiest item to identify on the Lion slab because indeed it refers to planet Jupiter! “The Radiant one” was in classical Greece the name of planet Jupiter (we often encounter it in ancient Greek texts simply as ΦΑΕΘΩΝ – the “Radiant”)!

It is at this point that the Lion slab takes a whole new meaning. You see, it becomes apparent now that it is not a mere representation of the constellation of Leo but there is more to it. It most probably has astrological connotations. Otherwise the three fully named planets over the Lions back would make no sense. Why should they inscribe and depict on the slab just the planets Mars, Mercury and Jupiter? Why not Venus and Saturn too? The latter are conspicuously absent!

The sequence of the planets over the lions back might be another important clue. They do not follow the classic sequence (Mercury, Mars, Jupiter) but they are enumerated in this rather erratic manner: Mars – Mercury – Jupiter. Did the sculptor commit an error in the sequence of the planets? Or is the famous scholar Otto Neugebauer right here when he claims that the sequence of these planets is either accidental or it manieristically repeats the late babylonian enumeration of the planets (Jupiter – Venus – Mercury – Saturn, Mars. If we omit Venus and Saturn we then get Jupiter – Mercury – Mars, which is the exact sequence of the planets on the lion slab – mirrored in reverse though). I personally think that this Neugebauer’s assumption does not hold much water (he didn’t have at his disposal some crucial archeological findings we know of today).

You see, I believe that the lion slab is “semiotically” connected to the gigantic statues of the deities, at the pyramid’s base. At both terraces (the eastern and the western) the same array of deities is replicated in exactly the same order: the deified Anticochus on the very left, then the all important to the Greeks goddess “Tyche”- Fortune, then Jupiter at the center, then Mercury and finally Mars on the very right. If we start enumerating these statues from right to left we get Mars – Mercury – Jupiter. That’s exactly the 3 planets’ sequence on the lion slab!

Of course there are some objections here. Why should we enumerate the gods/planets at the base of the pyramid from right to left when (on the lion slab) we enumerate the three planets from left to right? And why the two major statues/deities – Apollo and Mars – are located on the left (the “lesser”) side of Jupiter, while a mortal like Antiochus stands on Jupiter’s “good” right side? Well, the answer to the latter question is simple: the mesopotamians were always taking in account the observers’ point of view (the pilgrims’ in this case), so actually it is Antiochus who stands on the lesser left side of Jupiter! Regarding the former question, it was all a matter of “staging”. Since Jupiter had to be at the very center of the statues’ array (being the king of the gods) then the only viable option left was to enumerate the Mars – Mercury – Jupiter sequence on the reverse (ending with Mars on the far right of the array). Even so, the lion slab and the array of the statues are intrinsically attuned! Thus, the purpose of the full denomination of the planets over the lion’s back (as i.e. “the glittering one of Apollo” for Mercury) was to facilitate the pilgrims, so that they readily correlate the esoteric symbolism of the lion slab to the symbolism of the gigantic statues of the gods!

There is a last decisive clue on the lion slab that we haven’t touched so far. On the lions chest there is clearly visible some sort of sickle-shaped ornament. In the long mesopotamian tradition (and probably globally) this “sickle – shaped” item is a typical symbol of the Moon. So, the message conveyed to us here is that the Moon is in the constellation of Leo! Everything becomes crystal clear now! This isn’t an astronomical slab but an ASTROLOGICAL one! It is a slab commerorating some major – to Antiochus or to the kingdom of Commagene – event, that took place under the auspices of the constellation of Leo!

Did you notice that I am writing “constellation of Leo” instead of “zodiacal sign of Leo”? Although both of them are divided in 12 sections bearing the same names, the constellations and the zodiacal signs are two radically different things. The constellations remain (relatively) fixed on the celestial vault while the zodiacal signs are slowly shifting. Today, for example, the constellation of Leo largely corresponds to that section of the sky where the zodiacal sign of Virgo is. In some 2500 years the constellation of Leo will be corresponding to the zodiacal sign of Libra. That’s why I am cautious with the use of the terms “constellation” and sign”. But I shouldn’t be that much, because by a remarkable coincidence in Antiochus times the tropical and the sidereal zodiac were almost coinciding (they were off by just 4 degrees). So, astrologically speaking, whether you were referring to the “constellation of Leo” or the “zodiacal sign of Leo” was almost the same back then.

We are not sure to what extent the Commagene astrologers were aware of the “constellation” – “zodiac” conceptual difference. We know that within the realm of the Hellenistic world Hipparchus had already discovered the precession of the equinoxes back in 130 BCE. So, from then on the astrologers had to take a gigantic consciousness leap in order to comprehend and assimilate the fact that there was a new “entity” called “zodiacal sign”, an entity that was quite different and independent from its namesake constellation! It would definitely take generations for the astrologers to get the hang of it.

But let’s turn back to the lion slab. At this stage it is very apparent that the slab depicts an horoscope! To our modern eyes it might not look like one. You see, we instictively compare it with the modern horoscopic blueprints we are familiar with, the ones with the zodiacal circle in them, the symbols of the planets, the houses, the Ascendant etc. But we shouldn’t apply our modern preconceptions to an artifact that is more than 2000 years old. Back then i.e. the Ascendant was a concept not yet developed. There were no astrological houses, at least not in the modern sense. Apparently, the zodiac had already been invented but it was handled as a rather theoretical conception without much usefulness. The astrologers of that era were following the old traditions and were verbally writing down the positions of the planets in the signs (using words instead of symbols).

Those were times of a major transition in astrology. The “omen lore” era (where the “horoscopes” consisted of simple planetary omens inscribed on mud-bricks) was coming to an end and the gigantic wave of the new, revolutionary hellenistic astrology was emerging on the horizon! Thus, if we could see the mount Nemrut’s lion slab through the eyes of an educated person of that culture we would immediately realize that it depicts an horocope – and a much advanced one!

Apparently, this lion slab horocope is serving two major purposes. On the one hand it is a short of calendar, marking astronomically the date of some important event. On the other hand it is a short of “certificate”, giving a testimony that the aforementioned event took place under the auspices of some extraordinary cosmic occurrence, an occurrence that vibrationally “sealed” it for ever! But what was that important event and when did it occur?

Well, thanks to the lion horocope itself (and to our modern computers) it’s rather easy to establish the date of this unknown event. We are looking for a date when the Moon and the planets Mars, Mercury and Jupiter were all in the zodiacal sign or in the constellation of Leo. We will not get many such dates. In addition, thanks to the information provided by the inscriptions located at the site we know that this important event is related either to Antiochus himself or to his father Mithridates, who ascended the throne in 109 BCE. Thus, we can further narrow our time frame: say from 140 BCE to 38 BCE (Antiochus death). We are getting then the results you are seeing in the next table:Most plausible dates for the Antiochus Lion horoscope -αα11

I dismiss right away case 2 because a) it doesn’t correspond to any major event in the lifes of Antiochus or Mithidrates (actually Antiochus was not even born in 98 BCE) and b) because it doesn’t obey the Mars – Mercury – Jupiter sequence that we see depicted on the lion slab . I dismiss too case 4 because a) Antiochus was rather old by then and on his mount Nemrut statue is portayed as a young man and b) because neither this case obeys the crucial Mars – Mercury – Jupiter sequence.

We are left then with cases 1 and 3. In fact, case 1 (July 14th, 109) corresponds to the year king Mithidrates (Antiochus’ father) was coronated (109 BCE). Thus, there are some scholars who claim that our lion horoscope is “cast” for the Mithidrates coronation. I don’t subscribe to that scenario. Why would they elect a coronation horocope leaving the most regal of the “planets”, the Sun out of the sign/constellation of Leo (and in Cancer)?

Case 3 is the most satisfactory of them all. Apart from the fact that it meets all the requirements, the Sun in this case is in the sign/constellation of Leo – and that would be the ultimate “certificate” of regality! But then – very reasonably – you will say to me “there is no sun depicted on the lion horoscope”. Well, I think that’s not true, because in my opinion the entire lion slab is depicting the Sun in Leo! Thus, there was no need to inscribe the Sun symbol on it!

Such an absolutely rare and unique accumulation of planets in the regal sign of Leo could not have gone unnoticed by an erudite man, well versed into astrology and hermeticism, our man Antiochus I Theos! Think now that those years were extraordinary from another point of view as well: the regal star Regulus (that lies at the “heart” of the Leo constellation – a few inches above the lunar “sickle” we identified on the lion slab) had just entered in the ZODIACAL SIGN of Leo!

It seems that Antiochus fully took advantage of this extraordinary cosmic occurrence, in order to deify himself and establish an illustrious dynastry. That’s why he built his enormous sanctuary/mausoleum on the summit of mount Nemrut. Most probably, on Augut 3rd, 62 BCE he performed a sort of “Theurgy” up there, where he equalled himself and his dynasty to the Gods (hence his title “Epiphanes Theos” – “Manifest God”) and propitiated his kingdom. He wasn’t very succesful in that, because a few decades after his death the Romans annexed Commagene to their huge empire. Nevertheless, the Antiochus monument and the lion horoscope have lasted for more than 2000 years, still exerting fascination to the people all over the world. In that sense, the legacy of Antiochus I of Commagene has indeed been immortalized!

Jupiter in Virgo – the God of small things!

Without too much ado, planet Jupiter entered a few days ago (on August 11th) in the sign of Virgo! The event went largely unnoticed, probably because at the time most people in the northern hemisphere were taking their summer vacation! Thus, unlike the entrance of Jupiter in Leo a year ago, this was a “no fanfare”, low profile event – but that’s quite appropriate to the nature of Virgo!

This is a critical shift that will affect pretty much all of us (since the sign of Virgo is present in every natal chart). It will activate now a specific, important area of our life – and eventually a new set of planets and “points” in our chart.

Apart from the individual level though, this zodiacal shift of Jupiter will have a collective impact on mankind as well . It will diffuse a new “spirit of the time” (“zeitgeist”) in our societies and it will affect in a particular way the psychology of the masses. You see, everything (people, events, situations) is attuned and adapted to the “frequency” of the ever changing “spirit of the time”. It is important therefore to define that “spirit” astrologically!

To realize what I mean consider this: during the previous 12 months that Jupiter was in Leo the so-called “selfies” pictures were in vogue. These “selfies” mirrored perfectly the spirit of the exuberant Jupiter in the egocentric and somehow exhibitionist sign of Leo! But now that the giant planet has moved to the rather timid and modest sign of Virgo the “selfies” may start to tire out and a new fashion might prevail – having now a distinct “virgonian” essence! For example, we might see the clothing fashion clinging towards more earthy and simple forms in the ensuing months.

Jupiter represents the “higher mind” but is entering here in a realm of the “lower mind”. One might find a contradiction there but not the ever pondering “grandmaster”. You see, Jupiter is an avid apprentice of the core philosophy of each sign it is transiting in. It yearns to master that philosophy and to extrapolate more advanced notions out of it – so that it ultimately carves new promising paths in its eternal quest for enlightenment!

The king of the gods is unexpectedly discovering here the virgonean microcosm and much intrigued is plunging in it (instead of taking its habitual “outer” trips). And being in Virgo Jupiter ultimately realizes that there can be no “higher mind” without a “lower” one. The two are tightly interconnected and are mutually fed! That the “prosaic” and the “here and now” are as holy and important as the spiritual and the eternal! That our world is composed of innumerable little things, of countless functional parts that are crucial to the whole, parts we should become more aware of. That being of service to the others is a holy task! And that our body is a temple that we must revere and take care of!

Frankly, the coexistence of Jupiter and Virgo is a little bit problematic. Jupiter is a “fiery” expansive and enthusiastic planet imbued by a high idealism, a planet that is ever yearning to go beyond the distant horizons. Virgo on the other is an “earthy”, practical and perfectionist sign that avoids the energy wastage and is focusing its attention on making its current routine fully functional and “ritualized”. Therefore, there is a significant gap between the aspirations of these two astrological elements (and it is not by chance that Jupiter is in its “fall” in the sign of Virgo – meaning that this earthy sign is somehow hampering the primary goals of  the king of the gods – as Jupiter wants to aim high but this sign is ever calling him off to watch its next step).

Jupiter is a “cosmic barometer” showing us (according to the sign it is transiting in and the aspects it is forming) the degree of evolution, prosperity and optimism within our societies. In this regard, Jupiter in Virgo does not leave much room because it indicates that we are now entering a “minimalist” phase, a contraction phase of further thrift and austerity. Therefore, in the next twelve months a “Spartan” spirit will  prevail worldwide (which will probably become even more rigorous around March 2016, when Jupiter will be forming again a discordant square aspect to Saturn).

On the other hand, this position of Jupiter will offer us some valuable lessons. It will teach us how to take maximum advantage of our available resources, it will make us wiser, more inventive and effective in saving resources, in managing materials etc. – so that we ultimately cope with the overall scarcity of money and resources that we might come across.

We spoke earlier about the great gap that exists between Jupiter and the sign of Virgo. But there is simultaneously a focal point of convergence between them. This point is the so-called “sacredness” of the two signs. Jupiter is an idealistic planet that represents our connection with the higher, spiritual realms, with the divine. And Virgo is an “earthly” sign representing the purification process, virginity, “angelicality”! Therefore, Jupiter in Virgo will highlight now the sanctity of the everyday, ordinary or even old-hat situations, the God that resides in the small things and in the apparently trivial processes of life.

This means that we will start undertaking with greater willingness now some manual works that we were previously thinking of as boring or undesirable. From the washing of the dishes to the sweeping of the floor, to the DIYS repairing of our car or house, to knitting etc. These jobs we will be doing now more willingly and consciously, feeling their importance and “sanctity” in the “larger scheme of things”! Consequently, we will become more efficient at our jobs (working harder and paying closer attention to the details – producing thus a work of higher quality).

You may never have heard it, but in Japan there is a whole traditional ritual associated with – the otherwise trivialized – tea serving… This ritual is summarizing the spirit of Jupiter in Virgo (which is a very ritualistic sign)!

In general, Jupiter in Virgo will help us become more realistic and it will assist us in better arranging and organizing our lives. Furthermore, it will significantly contribute to the purification and cleansing of our society! Some fundamental moral values will re-emerge and more pure and honest people will be promoted to the important posts!

The sign of Virgo is closely linked to the popular, to the working class. So the beneficial planet Jupiter in Virgo should normally mark a period of growth and relative prosperity for the working classes. And indeed initially some high expectations might be cultivated, which in the course of  time might prove to be largely “illusory” – making people feel once again that they have been cheated (Jupiter will form – at times – a difficult opposition aspect with the somehow “fraudster” planet Neptune). However, although in recent years many labor rights have been violated, some new laws might be issued now that will ensure better conditions for the working class. A more flexible and effective labor law might be applied now – regulating the immigrants’ issue as well.

Undoubtedly, Jupiter in Virgo (the sign of work) will accentuate the importance and the “sanctity” of work. More people will try now to enter the labor market (seeking – in order to survive – even the humblest of the jobs)! On the other hand, many people will seek jobs abroad. We will be more willingly now rolling up our sleeves in order to work, to produce something useful, to assist in an immediate and practical manner the people around us.

Whenever Jupiter is in Virgo it apparently increases the frequency and volume of the public and private sector’s construction activity. Consequently, many unemployed people are finding new jobs in such periods – but not necessarily well paid ones!

The health sector is also traditionally associated with the sign of Virgo and is expected to somehow improve now (our governments will probably announce fancy new public health programs). Additionally, any business regarding, healthy/organic food products, natural remedies, centres promoting natural (no toxic drugs) treatments and a healthier lifestyle will bloom now!

Another category of “little things” that are under the auspices of Virgo are the pets! Our societies will take better care now of our small friends. New laws might be issued regarding their welfare (punishing i.e. more severely their negligence or maltreatment).

At times, however, Jupiter in Virgo (in its “fall” that is) appears to suppress the liberties in the environment of the educational institutions (i.e the disciplinary decisions that were taken against the rebelling students in May 1969). In addition, it acts in a rather shrinking and “minimalist” manner on issues regarding the judicial system, the judges, the lawyers and the courts. But it may cause some sort of cleanup there too.

A rather unhappy combination of the properties of Jupiter (expansion, bloating) and Virgo (the earth, the soil) is that during the passage of the giant planet in this sign volcanoes are often erupting (too much “bloating”of the earth)! The spectacular – and well documented on TV – eruption of St. Helen’s in 1980 i.e. took place under the influence of Jupiter in Virgo). In addition, during these periods some major tectonic faults are often displaced (as a mutable earthy sign Virgo is representing the “earth in motion”)..

The obscure Hitler’s relationship with his niece Geli (an astrological analysis)

Astrology is a powerful tool! It enables us to transcend time and space, to penetrate entire centuries or even millennia and go back in the distant past and “experience” from an incredible vicinity some major historical occurrences that have been poorly recorded and thus remain obscure, to revive human stories and situations we know very little about. It enables us to probe and somehow “resuscitate” the lives, the character and the behaviours of historical key-figures and meaningful situations that would be otherwise irrevocably lost in the mist of the time….Thanks to astrology we are able of penetrating even the sanctuary of an intimate relationship (provided we are given the birth data of its members)!

Today (I am writing this article on June 4th, 2015), 107 years ago, the flirtatious but rather inconspicuous girl you see above was born. Her name was Geli Raubal. She was Adolf Hitler’s niece (half-niece actually) and according to many his lover (the prestigious “Astrodienst” for example is explicitly reporting Geli as being “Hitler’s mistress”)!

We do have in our disposition Hitler’s complete horoscope. He was a Taurus, with a Capricornian Moon and his Ascendant in Libra (born on April 20th, 1889, at 6:30 pm in Braunau am Inn in Austria). The first thing that is striking us in the study of their Synastry is that Hitler doesn’t seem to be astrologically compatible with Geli, who was a Gemini with a proud and fearless Leonian Moon (she was born on June 4, 1908 in Linz Austria. No time provided)! On the contrary, there seems to be a huge incompatibility between Hitler’s Taurean stellium and Geli’s Moon in Leo (the Moon being crucial in a woman’s horoscope)! Inexplicably though Hitler seemed to be extremely fond of Geli! For 3 whole years (from 1929 to 1931) he was housing her in his Munich apartment. And he wouldn’t go anywhere (in a cafe, a restaurant etc.) unless he had Geli on his side!

Nobody can say for sure whether the Hitler’s – Geli’s relationship was a sexual one or not. What we definitely know is that it was the most intense relationship in Hitler’s life! And that this relationship was permeated by an extreme possessiveness, especially from Hitler’s part. When Hitler found out that Geli had a fling with his private chauffeur he threatened to shoot him! In 1931 Geli asked Adolf to leave the apartment and go back to Vienna in order to take singing lessons (a Jewish  man she was in love with was secretly awaiting her). But Hitler furiously refused and ordered his guards to get tighter on her. On September 18, 1931 Geli was found dead in Hitler’s apartment. Apparently she had committed suicide, shooting herself on her chest with one of Hitler’s pistols. She was 23 years old!

So, what’s the story behind Hitler’s – Geli’s relationship? Because there is something deeper there and that something we have to find out! You see relationships – any kind of them  – do not casually “result”. They are dictated by profound needs of ours and they are attuned to often obscure and irrational facets of our souls – facets we are not very much aware of. But Astrology can substantially assist us in this direction! So, let’s take a look at their Synastric bi-wheel (with Hitler’s natal chart in the inner circle and Geli’s in the outer one):

Αs Ι already explained, the two of them do not seem to be particularly compatible – under an astrological point of view. There is however a “latent” synastric element that might create a certain degree of compatibility between them. Hitler’s Moon is located in the restless, youthful and communicative Third House of his chart. This configuration alone – isolated from the rest of the chart – denotes that a Gemini woman could ultimately be the ideal Adolf’s partner (as the Third House is tightly related to the sign of Gemini)!

It also impresses us the fact that both Geli’s Sun and Pluto are falling in Hitler’s Eighth House (while simultaneously her Sun is in a wide conjunction to Hitler’s Pluto)! That’s a very powerful Synastric configuration! Actually, the Eighth House is the BIG MERGER! It does unite and merge two individuals (physically, mentally, psychologically, financially, erotically etc.) to the extent that the two interconnect to a very visceral and profound level, within the deepest reaches of their souls! Under the Eighth House’s spell the partners are somehow “squeezed” the one over the other, till they finally shed the shell of their individuality and merge into a single entity, transforming themselves into – let’s say – the legendary “Androgynous”! And with such a strong Eighth House emphasis some very powerful drives and passions dominate this relationship. Which, unless sexually consumed or somehow “sublimated” might eventually give birth to feelings of mortal hatred and hostility!

Since we don’t know Geli’s time of birth we don’t know too the exact degree her Moon is in. We are absolutely sure though that it is in Leo, around the 13th degree of that sign. Thus, it is probably forming a tight conjunction with Hitler’s Saturn! This means that Geli was experiencing Adolf as a sort of (strict and severe) father figure. On the other hand, Hitler was feeling very complacent having this brilliant and vivacious young woman by his side! The Saturn – Moon conjunction might also mean that he was somehow controlling and limiting her (psychologically, spatially etc), that he was ever trying to discipline her! And since Geli’s Saturn is squaring Hitler’s Moon too it was hard for them to communicate on an inner level, to exchange feelings and achieve a proximity within their souls, to manifest tenderness to each other etc. Thus, it would be a lot easier for them to resort into raw sexual intercourses…

A strong sexual connotation is ensued too in this relationship by the fact that both their Mars’s are forming aspects with their respective Moons. It was hard for them to feel at ease. A spirit of intensity and unrest was constantly hovering over them and they were very easily and without an apparent reason upsetting each other! They were both feeling that the other member was excessively cruel and aggressive, an insensitive person that was repeatedly hurting their feelings…

But apart these pivotal synastric configurations there is something else that made Geli so important to Hitler: the two specific zodiacal signs her Luminaries are in (her Sun in Gemini and her Moon in Leo). You see Hitler was very much attached to his mother, whose death never managed to overcome. His mother was a Leo with a Gemini Moon (her Sun-Moon zodiacal combination was the reverse of Geli’s!). So definitely Geli was reminding Hitler something of his mother. That would explain a lot why he was so fond of her. But it doesn’t end here. Hitler’s father was a Gemini with his Moon in Leo. He had the very same Luminaries combination as Geli! The fact is Hitler hated the guts of his father. And that hatred he undoubtedly transferred onto Geli. That would explain why he abused her so much, bringing her to the point of committing suicide (provided she was not murdered, of course…)

The chart of the fatal “Air-Germanwings” pilot!

Featured image

Pilot Andreas Lubitz (who according to the investigations intentionally crashed  – on March 24th – the “Germanwings” plane into the French Alps) is not just a tragic suicidal figure but one of the major serial killers in world history as well (since he deliberately killed 149 innocent passengers and crew of the plane – among them several children )! This man somehow “sowed” an incredible amount of death into very many of his fellow-humans – while he brought hundreds of families on the verge of unfathomable pain and despair!

Astrologically speaking, all these elements bear a fatal “odor” that is usually stemming out of the sign of Scorpio (to be more precise, it is stemming out of the lower, “blindly destructive” nature of this sign and not out of its elevated “Eagle” version), out of Pluto or out of the Eighth House. We do not know Lubitz’s time of birth and therefore we do not know whether or not he has an Eighth House emphasis in his horoscope. But it seems to abundantly have the other two aforementioned elements: Scorpio and Pluto!

Andreas Lubitz - Germanwings suicidal pilot

Although the solar sign of Andreas Lubitz is Sagittarius, his Moon (the “planet” that is closely linked to the “inner universe” of an individual, to his/her soul) is in the sign of Scorpio! A Scorpio Moon entails some very powerful, intense and extreme energies in one’s soul. But Lubitz’s scorpionic emphasis does not end here, since he was having in the sign of Scorpio Mars and Pluto too – forming a conjunction among them! Both Mars and Pluto are two archetypes associated with “war” and with death – on a rather collective level. And a Mars – Pluto conjunction is (in its “negative” manifestation) one of the most explosive and uncontrollably violent aspects that one can encounter in a horoscope.

My own hypothesis is that Andreas Lubitz was born in the evening, say around 8:30 pm. The Moon was then in the very last degree (designated by many astrologers as a “critical degree”) of Scorpio! The Moon is actually in its “fall” when in Scorpio. In its “negative” manifestation such a Moon may cause severe psychological problems, a lot of inner pain and a torrential discomfort within the soul of the person bearing it. At the same time the Moon in Scorpio is bestowing upon the individual a unique “stealthing” capacity, an ability that is to effectively hide his/her inner states of mind so that nobody ever notices them!

So, if Lubitz were born around 8:30 pm. he would then have a particularly “heavy” Fourth House in his chart (with Mars conjunct Pluto in there and a Moon in Scorpio (in its fall) – not to mention a plausible fourth house cusp in Scorpio!). Such a scenario would produce in us the suspicion that he was born and raised in a rather “toxic”, upsetting and stressful family environment, which may have caused him severe wounds in his soul.

Just a few days prior to Lubitz’s heinous act the planet Saturn (who is somehow pivotal in his chart, as it is forming a tight conjunction with his Sun) became retrograde and started approaching his natal Moon (which is definitely either in the very first degrees of Sagittarius or in Scorpio’s last). As they say, Lubitz had recently went through a period of severe depression – which is perfectly “tying” in with the fact of the “granite” planet Saturn hovering over his Moon for the most part of 2014. Since last December, however, Saturn dynamically went direct and moved to the sign of Sagittarius, staying temporarily a little away from his Moon. Until last March the 15th, when Saturn became retrograde and Lubitz’s strong “scorpionic” nature sensed it again casting its heavy shadow over him …

If the case of a Leo Ascendant holds water (he was an avid sportsman) then it seems that another powerful astrological event occurred in Lubitz’s chart, just four days before he crashed the plane: a total solar eclipse in his Eighth House (over his North Node and in a particularly discordant square aspect to his Sagittarius stellium)! Such an eclipse is capable of creating a huge emotional upheaval in an individual – especially within the deeper and more irrational layers of his soul  – and lead him/her into extreme actions that he wouldn’t normally carry on…

I would like to add here another element that struck me in his chart: the tight conjunction of his Sun with planet Saturn and the (even tighter) conjunction of his Sun with Uranus! This loaded “package” (the Sun in the freedom loving Sagittarius co-existing with the rather “heavy” and “binding” planet Saturn AND with the somehow subversive and electrical planet Uranus) creates a very special “mix” – and ultimately is contributing to the formation of personality that you never know where and when s/he will suddenly and uncontrollably snap…

They say that the deeper cause of this Lubitz’s horrible act is a heartbreak he recently went through. I know that an eventual heartbreak is experienced with extreme severity and acute pain by any individual having in his/her chart a Scorpio emphasis. A man i.e. with his Moon in Scorpio is “merging” himself  to such an extent with his companion that when he loses her he is losing his very self, the whole earth trembles under his feet!

The crucial point is that the German pilot Andreas Lubitz could very well cut the thread of his life within the privacy i.e. of his house (if that was what he really wanted). Why did he then choose to intentionally crash the plane with all the passengers in it? (just imagine him staring for a while – just before entering the cockpit and with some grudge in his eyes – the happy families and the kids joyfully playing in the cabin). I believe that Lubitz wanted to revenge his somehow painful earlier years and his overall dark childhood.

In my astrology seminars I am ever stressing the fact that the sign of Cancer (Family) is in a constant dynamic interaction with the diametrically opposite sign of Capricorn (Society). Thus, society is usually experienced by the people as a sort of second “surrogate family”! Meaning that we are somehow “paying back” to society the traumas’ we are carrying in our souls from our earlier years and we are ever “revenging” society for all the “wrongdoings” we suffered in our childhood – i.e. by simply throwing litter out of our car window or even by deliberately flying an airbus into a mountain and by murdering thus an entire chunk of the society…

The Greek Declaration of Independence (and the true horoscope of modern Greece!)

acropolis-athens-greece-711916-xl
“If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating
……………………………………………………….
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more -you’ll be a Man, my son!”

This Rudyard Kipling’s “If” poem was one of my favourites during my early adolescence. I couldn’t entirely understand the melodramatic tone of the poem back then. I was just sensing that life – and the poets talent – had distilled some omnipotent truth in this particular poem, so something was telling me to keep it in me as some precious resource. That proved to be a wise move, because as the years were passing by I was ever more encountering situations were I had to make a stand against many individuals supporting a totally different point of view. I was thus resorting often to this poem, as I was struggling to maintain my inner balance. Because difficult as it might be to stand all alone against many it is (when creative) one of the holier tasks a human being can undertake…

This premise was rather necessary for you to understand the gist of this article. You see, I am probably the only person in Greece claiming that the national horoscope of Greece is not the one everybody else believes it is! And I am not claiming this out of some whimsical extravagance of my character but because there is ample evidence of it, as you will see.

Before proceeding further, I should stress the fact that commercial astrology is running high in modern Greece while what we call “cultured astrology” and the astrological research in general are almost non existent! Greece is a small country and the opinions of certain astrological “companies” and “environments” tend to prevail easily (no matter how subjective, outdated or even biased they are). So, almost all the Greek astrologers are claiming that modern Greece was born with the London Protocol on February 3rd, 1830 – and thus it is an Aquarian country. But if you ask them how can they be so sure they will most probably answer you: “Well, everybody says so…”!

Δικήρυξη Ανεξαρτησίας Ελλάδας

The painting you see above depicts a monumental event in modern Greek history, an event which is – oddly – largely unknown to the Greek astrologers! It is a painting hung in a hall of the Greek Parliament and it depicts the historical moment the Greeks are declaring their independence from the Turks (who had militarily occupied Greece for four whole centuries) in the year 1822! The painting is entitled “the Declaration of the Political existence and independence of the Greek Nation”! Essentially this Declaration marks the founding act of contemporary Greece. This monumental Declaration (which is an astrological milestone as well, as we will see later on) took place in Epidaurus, on January 1, 1822 (old – Julian – calendar).

You may see below the original text of that Declaration (the papyrus that the Greek patriot with the blue vest is showing at – in the above painting) as it has survived from that period. Being a Greek and reading this declaration of the Greek “founding fathers” is a rather emotional experience. Every single word contained in it is carefully tailored so that it captures the spirit and the intentions of the “founding fathers” of modern Greece, as they were about to declare their Independence:

Αυθεντικό κείμενο Διακήρυξης Επιδαύρου
«In the name of the Holy and Indivisible Trinity, the Greek Nation that in the last four centuries has been under the horrible Turkish rule, unable to bear any more the heavy and unprecedented tyranny, which with huge sacrifices we have finally thrown off, is proclaiming today – through its legitimate delegates here assembled – in front of God and humanity, its political existence and Independence! Epidaurus January 1st 1822».

Note that the “founding fathers” of modern Greece are explicitly stating the year 1822 as the “First Year of the Independence of Greece!” Thus, they are somehow telling us that in 1822 the modern Greek nation-state was born. Today most of the scholars in political sciences are in full agreement with them!

See for example what the Greek branch of “Wikipedia” is reporting in its article on the First Greek National Assembly of Epidaurus:

“The (1822) National Assembly of Epidaurus constitutes the first legislative body of the newly founded Greek state.”

See also what the Greek professor of Law Pierrina Koriatopoulou is stating regarding the matter:

“The Epidaurus Declaration of the Greek Independence is a major achievement of the First Greek National Assembly. It introduces modernity in Greek society, which is called forth to establish – through some very innovative political institutions – the state rule of the first in the Greek history independent nation-state.”

I personally consider crucial an assessment made by the professor of the Athens University of Political Sciences George Dimakopoulos:

“The Declaration of the Political Existence and Independence of the Greek Nation is the constitutive act of the Greek State, whose foundation, legally and historically has to be regarded as from January 1st, 1822 (old calendar, meaning January 13 on the Gregorian calendar). Certain points of view that appoint it to a different day – ultimately connecting it to the diplomatic recognition of the Greek State by foreign powers – not only are contrary to the applied Greek national law, but to the international law too. For the diplomatic recognition of a State by a foreign power cannot be turned into a constituent part of that State!”

Obviously the majority of today’s Greek astrologers are rather ignoring these findings of the political sciences because they are assuming that modern Greece was born on February 3, 1830, when the foreign powers recognised – for the sake of their own interests – the Greek independence (with the London Protocol)! Therefore the Greek astrologers are sustaining that modern Greece is an Aquarian country! But it doesn’t look like one at all! Whoever has lived in Greece s/he knows that the modern Greek society not only does not encompass but it actually lacks some major Aquarian attributes like the creative collectivism, the progressive attitude, the idealism, the radical innovations etc.).

So, Greece is the only country in the entire world that is not defining its national horoscope from the date when the Greeks themselves declared their Independence (as the Americans do, who have a far more advanced astrology). Instead, the Greek astrologers are determining the national horoscope of their country on the basis of the date the foreign powers recognised Greece as an independent nation – state! This is somehow an insult to the memory of the Greek “founding fathers,” whom we are seeing on the above painting enthusiastically proclaiming the political existence and independence of Greece! It’s like telling them that the foreign powers and not themselves are to be considered the founding fathers of modern Greece!

Obviously there are some loose ends here. There is something wrong not only astrologically but historically too. You see, when the Greek astrologers are claiming that modern Greece was born with the London Protocol (in 1830) they are automatically committing an injustice to their own “founding fathers”! It is as if their founding fathers never proclaimed the Greek Independence from the Ottoman Turks, as if they never won battles against the Turks, as if they never shed their blood and sacrificed their lives for Greece!

What you see below is the copy of an old Greek chronicle reporting on a very critical national assembly that took place in 1843, immediately after the massive revolt of the Greek people who were protesting against the totalitarianism of of the German King of Greece Otto and were demanding a proper “Constitution”!

Χρονικό Γ ΕθνοσυνέλευσηςOne can easily deduce from chronicles like this that Greece was a fully fledged state long before 1830 (for example John Capodistria – the undoubtly most eminent politician in modern Greece – was appointed prime minister in 1827). Moreover, the “Otto monarchy” was imposed onto the Greek people by the foreign powers and was never accepted in the souls and in the hearts of the everyday people. In the above chronicle I am underlying an expression in Greek that goes: “King Otto and the Bavarians skillfully and deliberately silenced the fact that Greece had a fully fledged government long BEFORE the London Protocol (February 3, 1830)!”

So, the Germans were “hushing” back then the fact that the Greeks had established a government of their own long before King Otto arrived in Greece. Why would they do such a thing? Well, just think about it… They were hushing it because their own “agenda” was completely different from the one of the Greek people! Ultimately, the horoscope based on the date February 3, 1830 is the horoscope of the foreign plans for Greece (the horoscope of the “Kingdom of Greece”, a kingdom that was actually abolished in 1974 by a national referendum). And definitely it’s not the national horoscope of Greece, which should stem out of the historical date January 1st, 1822, Old Style).

Greece is a Capricornian country (you may read my relative article here)! Therefore, those Greek astrologers who are insisting that the national horoscope of Greece is resulting from the February 3, 1830 date are somehow allying themselves with king Otto (with the Bavarians and with the foreign powers in general) and NOT with the spirit and the will of the Greek people!

The mysterious March 20th, 2015 “twin” Solar Eclipse

Featured image

There is a particular factor that makes the March 20th, 2015 Solar Eclipse special: it falls right on the very last degree of the zodiac (on the last degree of Pisces – which is of course the last degree of the zodiac too). So this is a somehow “threshold” eclipse, ushering us into a state of “limbo”. It is a rather “dissolving” eclipse, whose basic task is to irrevocably close a cycle of things – but it is apparently encountering a lot of resistance in doing so. Some highly unstable and unpredictable conditions are likely to occur now and lead us into a state of a “dead-end path”, recycling things and ever returning us to the same point – producing thus global confusion, fatigue and unrest…

In the astrological tradition, the 29 degrees of Pisces are considered “critical”. They may cause great instability, blur the “landscape” around us and bring forth torrential conditions of “dissolution” and “decomposition”. So, this “frontiers” kind of eclipse is somehow stating that an old cycle of things and situations has run its course and should be withdrawn now, so that a brand new cycle begins! This is an extremely delicate process though, which can trigger a series of uncontrollable events, uncertainty and disruption within the masses.

Most of the Solar Eclipses are (under a calendrical point of view)  “twin” eclipses. They are manifested in a set of two similar eclipses 19 years apart. Thus, the current eclipse will be repeated on March 20, 2034 (in the very last degree of the zodiac as well). For those of you looking for historical correlations, the same set of “29 degrees Pisces twin Solar Eclipses” re-occurred in the past in the 17th century: on March 20, 1643 and on March 20, 1662. That was when the Age of the Enlightenment and of the modern sciences was beginning to take hold…

On a purely personal level, we must follow now the path of humility and spirituality so that we effectively channel the powerful effects of this eclipse. Any effort to force out our own egotistical desires will fall flat on its face (especially around the eclipse date). We must therefore put aside our egos and abandon with confidence ourselves (up to a certain extent, of course ) to the care of the “universal welfare” …
